backstory and process
plastic foliage is a one person operation based out of oakland, ca. each shirt is cut, sewn, printed, and painted by me in my home studio. i studied fashion design at cca, but was disappointed with their corporately geared program and ultimately decided to finish my degree in printmaking. this background in printmaking led me to develop a process for printing my shirts that layers the images without using registration, ensuring that each shirt is unique and allowing me to experiment endlessly!
styling and care
as a designer, my goal is to make clothing that not only fit a wide range of body types, but are also versatile in their styling capacity. these shirts are great for both casual and formal wear, and work well as layering pieces with jumpers, dresses, and jumpsuits. the shirt's loose cut and light weight fabric ensure a flattering fit and elegant drape on any body type. i use high quality 100% preshrunk cotton batiste and all screen printing and painting is heat set, so these shirts are machine washable and dryer safe.

the necklines are finished with half inch bias tape, which i make from batik fabrics. there are three different color ways, all of them 100% preshrunk cotton.
the bodice is a light weight cotton batiste, made in italy. it is sheer enough to let light through, but opaque enough to obscure undergarments.
